DTM Master Tattoo Artist
Born in East LA with a pencil in his hand, Daniel Flores was a creative child, drawing on every surface he could find. Daniel’s imagination would start taking off with images of Hanna-Barbera cartoons, Bugs Bunny and stories of Aztec bravery as told by his history teacher in Mexico City where Daniel attended middle school.
By High School Daniel’s skills were well known by anyone who meet him and his nickname became Dan The Man. By senior year the nickname was shortened to just DTM and that’s what it is today.
DTM never entered any art contests and was not interested in learning about art in a classroom setting. Drawing is DTM’s preferred learning style and by doing DTM has added several other art skills to his pool of talents including: Tattoos, Fine Art, Graphic Design and Mobile Game Illustration.
Ever since arriving in Atlanta in 1994, DTM has been deeply involved in the art community starting with group art shows to Curator of the Mano A Mano Art Exhibit Series. With his Wife Aisha Flores, DTM ventured into the web design field in 2006 and founded Denominator Graphics with a focus on building websites for young artists to have an online portfolio and promote their art to potential Fine Art collectors.
In 2012 DTM founded the non-profit Art Is King. Art Is King's Mission is to develop resources, events and connections that educate artists and supports the arts community. In 2014 Art Is King is scheduled to feature Art Business talks in the Atlanta Arts scene.
DTM was published in the 2012 July issue of ImagineFX Magazine. In 2005 DTM’s art was shown at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta as part of the Art Beats + Lyrics Art Show. In 2002 his tattoo studio won Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta award.
Since 2004, DTM has participated in over 25 group artshows in the Atlanta Area. Art is Daniel’s passion and his creativity overflows with non-stop art projects. Art is DTM’s profession and he’s thankful for the opportunity to create!
